SHE RISK ASSESSMENTS &
H&S COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATES

HANDSOME Consulting assists organisations with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Risk Assessments namely Steps 1 - 5 of HANDSOME Consulting's 10 Step Plan.

Step 1 - Hazard Identification by conducting a SHE Inspection of the company's premises & operations.

​

Step 2 - Risk Analysis by writing down the risk/s associated with a SHE hazard or a legislative issue.

​

Step 3 - Scientifically judging each issue's/hazard's Hazard Class (A, B, C) and Risk Value.

​

Step 4 - Judging Risk Importance (High, Medium or Low) and if it should be considered to be completed in the Short, Medium or Long Term based on the values calculated in Step 3.

​

Step 5 - Completing Risk Assessment Report which discusses the hazards, associated risk/s, value judgements and recommendations in a table format.

 

Recommendations for each issue is as far as possible based on South African legislation, Standards or where not possible on international best practices.

In Step 6 we can provide extra services as either a consultant or a SHE Officer. We assist the client to work away most or all the short to medium term issues that were raised in the SHE Risk Assessment Report which may include:

​

1. Developing  all the relevant missing documentation to build the client's SHE File.

​

2. Providing training e.g. a) Health and Safety Induction to all Workers, b) Health and Safety Duties of Supervisors, c) SHE Representatives etc.

​

3. Assist to set up and train the SHE Committee to become an active and major force in the company or their division.

Step 7 the client needs to implement the recommendations, policies and procedures developed up to that point to bring about a physical, attitude and culture change in the organization.

HANDSOME Consulting can assist by:

SHE induction training to the client's employees on the new systems, policies & procedures.

 

HANDSOME Consulting assists organizations in Step 8 and 9 by conducting Health and Safety compliance inspection or audits.

 

HANDSOME Consulting's developed its own audit protocol. After the SHE audit the client receives a report indicating the non-conformances and any outstanding issues that need to be addressed. It is therefor recommended to conduct a SHE inspection audit once every 6 months as this assists the client to track & monitor the SHE Plan's implementation process & progress.

The audit protocol provides for 5 award levels.

Level 1 with a minimum of 10% and level 5 for a minimum of 80% achieved in all 12 divisions.

When compliance is satisfactory, the client receives HANDSOME Consulting's Health and Safety Compliance Certificate.
